About fiber and regular guys

As MrTubby I am just your regular guy… especially since I’ve been adding this fiber supplement to my diet! I kid you not: if you’ve ever been on a no-carb diet, you’ll find out in exactly three days why your body needs fiber. I myself have learned my lesson and I’ve since ventured on a few cycles of low-carb diets. These are low-carb, not no carb, and have plenty of vegetables with lots and lots of indigestible fiber. Lots of it really, you feel like a rabbit at times. But I had no problems with my regularity ever. The particular protein mix I’m eating in the morning adds some extra fiber to my daily intake, so trust me when I say I’m a regular guy!

The most interesting side effect of exercising, in particular the jogging type of exercise where you bounce around a bit, may in fact have another positive effect on your metabolism… or at least on your gross turnover. All this bouncing up and down really mixes up the contents of your stomach and intestines. So if you happen to feel bloated, or something lies a bit heavy in your stomach, the physical irrigation that occurs with a light jog is sure to provide relief and add to your… regularity, I guess!

Why should you eat fiber when you’re trying to lose weight? Well, fiber makes you feel more full. By eating lots of leafy stuff, your stomach is full of food and is happy, yet it is not full of calories. Yet you still feel full. So… the smart dieter has a big glass of water BEFORE you eat your main meal, and you also eat your vegetables first, and you eat SLOWLY so that your stomach nerves can catch up (they are kind of slow at that!) and tell your brain that you you’re full. Applied science, made useful! Ha, if it all were just that easy…
