The pain sets in!
Day two, and I can’t believe it, I’m already sore from only one day of exercising! I’m having a significant case of the DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness), especially in my upper pecs. No doubt this is from me being overzealous with the pec dec! Yesterday morning I did a bit of pec work, and today I did my triceps and shoulder press routine. It’s just using two dumbells, sitting on the incline bench, and pushing them from somewhere next to my ears up in the air. I used fairly light weights again, just about 12 kg per dumbell, but something tells me that I will soon feel as if I had lifted much more.
Oh and today I also frolicked around on our somewhat deflated gymball, and I was doing a bit of crunches/situps. What I really was doing we can’t be sure as I had a hard time balancing on the damn thing. What we can say for sure is that I probably didn’t look all that elegant while doing it.
We also went for another powerwalk, and Lil Ms Saggybutt joined in, as predicted, under protest with lots of complaining. The pain truly has set in! Poor girl was a bit cold and complained of sleep deprivation. I myself had a short spell of nausea during our walk, probably because of the lactate build up that I’ve created with my antics on the gym ball. My legs are also increasingly feeling like jelly. I wonder how I’ll do tomorrow!
