Day 4 - Walking is easy

I got up kind of early and decided that it’s better not to crawl back into bed. So I got myself a nice cup of tea while preparing Saggybutt’s coffee. I added some creatine in my tea and ventured on to do my morning weight lifting. Since the pain in my right buttcheek (from all those lunging steps during squash last night) was way stronger than anything in my upper body, I figured I’ll do some bench press again, and I even managed to press 40 kg today. Add a bit of dumbell work for my biceps and then I was ready to nag Saggybutt out of bed.

To my amazement, Saggybutt only did a few moans and groans when I woke her up (trying my sweetest voice), but then, before I knew it she was in her sporting outfit, ready to go “walkies”. We even were 5 minutes earlier out of the house than usual! Both Saggybutt and I noticed how the morning walk was quite comfortable, the major difference being that we could let our bodies to the walking while discussing something completely else. Previously, our brains had been too busy focusing on walking and the how hard it was, whereas this time, there we went, erect posture, all spunky and active … it felt great and we made the whole distance without Saggybutt transmogrifying into an all-whinging, all-slouching display of misery.

I think it’s safe to say we’re both well on our way and we’ve found our bearings. This is great stuff! Now let’s see how I’ll do tonight when I play squash with Seedy again.
