Grocery Bill from hell!
After a week of extreme work load and a constant, ongoing battle with what appears to be a really nasty and truly persistent flu, yours truly, Mr Tubby, is back on track. I decided to start an actual diet, following a book. Which one it is will be revealed at the appropriate time in the future. Let’s begin by reporting that Saggybutt and I went to buy the necessary groceries to make the food as outlined in the diet book, and the bill was over $300 dollars.
Saggybutt and I each armed ourselves with one half of the shopping list (which was pretty much as long as the shopping docket, as it turned out) and a large trolley and we each went on our adventure hunting down the foods and ingredients as ordered. It took us 1.5 hours to get all the stuff together and we still forgot about 20% of it because I didn’t realize the shopping list continued on the back!
Behold the largest grocery shopping bill that I’ve ever had to pay in my life! I just had to take a picture of this one meter long monster:
Well either way, we now have most of what we need and in the next week we probably have much smaller grocery bills. Just goes to show that our kitchen really wasn’t equipped with anything useful for cooking. Self-cooking is going to be an adventure because both Saggybutt and I can at best make instant noodles or boil an egg.
Tomorrow the diet begins and I for one am mostly curious to see how it will go!
